morning aboard air force one. they're accompanied by the former president george w. bush and laura bush and the former secretary of state hillary clinton. they'll be joined in south africa by bill clinton and former president jimmy carter and mrs. carter. our white house correspondent brianna keilar is standing by. brianna, what do we know about the president's itinerary and his specific role in the memorial service? >> well, wolf, he will be among six foreign dignitaries who will be giving remarks during what is really an extensive program to take place in south africa honor agmandela. he is on this historic flight to what we're expecting will be the largest gathering of world leaders in their history. we're told by a white house official this is not something he had worked on until he was i guess instructed or invited by the south african government to make these remark at the memorial service. but there's also another sort of historic element to this trip, this flight that president obama is on right now. imagine this, sitting around the conference table of the private conferenc

, george w. bush, bill clinton, and jimmy carter. queen elizabeth ii will be represented by her son, prince charles. french president holland e will be here also. a logistical challenge ahead for the government. what does the week ahead look like? on tuesday we will see our first formal memorial service for the late president at fnb stadium. it seats 95,000 but the government in an effort to allow as many people as possible to take part in festivities, if can you call it that, will have 90 screens around the country, broadcasting what will take place on tuesday. wednesday through thursday, nelson mandela's body will lay in state. each morning his body will go on precession of sorts through the capital, allowing south africans to bid farewell. all of that ahead of nelson mandela returning to his ancestral homeland next weekend. there will be a ka traditional funeral for him on saturday ending in state funeral for him on sunday. really an entire country coming together to pay thanks to one man who helped unify a nation. cnn, jo harnessburg, south africa. >> in 10 minutes, i will talk to to "p

of formal presidents, george w. bush, bill clinton, former president carter as well as the head of the u.n. and many others. this will be a massive issue for the government to make this next week a run smoothly. also you've got the millions of south africans who want to take part in bidding nelson mandela a fairwell and tuesday, you'll see the formal memorial service and you will remember this from the world cup in soccer city. they will have three overflow stadiums. the transportation industry has announced that 41 trains will will be allowing people to transport to these stadiums for free on tuesday and there will be some 90 big screen monitors all over the country allowing people to watch that service. that precedes the lying in state of nelson mandela, wednesday, thursday and friday and his body will go in a procession to the capital building in pretoria each morning publicizing the route allowing as many as south africans as possible to take part in that and all of that, fred, precedes the final funeral on saturday in qunu, the ancestral region where nelson mandela is from. th

w. bush didn't use e-mail and he certainly was president during the time of handheld mobile devices. he didn't have one. but president obama, that's certainly a tool that he has always had. now i will say, though, the president doesn't completely shun all apple products. he uses the ipad quite a bit when he's looking at news or reviewing one of his speeches. it was also interesting yesterday, carol. he talked about how his daughters, sasha and malia spend quite a bit of time on their iphones. we saw that during the inaugural parade just this past january, that they were taking photos of the parade and photos of their parents and even taking some selfies. the president, no, he can't have an iphone, saying it's for security reasons. >> understand. brianna keilar, at the white house this morning. >>> budget battle hits your refrigerator. many of us could see milk prices double, unless congress acts soon. too big. too small. too soft. too tasty.
